The State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities under the Ministry of Health Protection (hereinafter - the Accreditation Service) informs that the Lithuanian legislation prohibits the distribution of medical devices outside of trade premises (e.g. at presentations organized by sellers, events that take place in various cafes, school premises and similar spaces). In addition, misleading advertising that does not correspond to reality is not allowed.

The Accreditation Service has seen an increase in user reports regarding medical devices distributed off-premises. Medical devices were offered to users not only during various presentations that took place in cafes, but there were also reports that medical devices were offered even when the seller went to the apartments of random residents.

According to the user's report, UAB "Laugita" organized a product presentation in the cafeteria, during which consumers were offered to purchase Spectra-H medical lasers. After the evaluation, it was found that it is a medical laser, but after comparing the information about the properties of the Spectra-H laser published on the website www.laugita.lt and in the promotional video with the description of the Spectra-H laser provided in the manufacturer's instructions for use, it was found that the company provided consumers with misleading and untrue information. inconsistent information about the purpose of this medical device.

According to the manufacturer's instructions for use, the Spectra-H laser is intended for pain relief, such as relieving muscle and joint pain, relieving arthritis symptoms and muscle spasms, reducing tingling, promoting relaxation of muscle tissue, and temporarily increasing local blood circulation at the target site. heat However, both the description of the Spectra-H laser on the website and the promotional video indicate a purpose not intended by the manufacturer for this medical device. For example, the description of the Spectra-H laser on the website states: "With daily Spectra-H laser therapeutic procedures at home, you will strengthen your body's immunity, respiratory organs and resistance to any viruses", and in the promotional video, it is stated that the Spectra-H laser "liquefies the blood , which is especially relevant for older people who want to avoid stroke and myocardial infarction", "promotes faster healing of ulcers, difficult-to-healing warts, helps in the treatment of varicose veins", "strengthens immunity", "helps in the treatment of skin diseases, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, herpes" . The manufacturer of the medical device is responsible for determining the purpose of the medical device. Therefore, UAB "Laugita", by providing a purpose for the Spectra-H laser that was not intended by the manufacturer, misled potential consumers and users, thereby violating the requirements of legal acts. The accreditation service instructed the company to remove from the website www.laugita.lt all information misleading consumers and users about the operation, properties and use of the Spectra-H laser and indicated that the distribution of medical devices in non-commercial premises is prohibited.

We remind you that purchasing and using medical devices must be done responsibly. First of all, before purchasing a medical device, the user must make sure that this medical device is really necessary and suitable for him.
