One constant in healthcare is changes

In a rapidly changing world, with the increasing number of innovations in medical science and the introduction of new health technologies, it is becoming increasingly difficult for institutions to adapt their healthcare services to the needs and expectations of patients. Improving the quality of healthcare services is increasingly becoming a priority for institutions.

One of the objectives of the accreditation of family medical services carried out by the Accreditation Service is to encourage the institution to continuously improve family medical services: the institution is required to prepare a strategic plan for the improvement of family medical services for the four years of the accreditation period, prepare annual quality improvement plans based on it and submit annual reports on the implementation of the plans to the Accreditation Service.

Accreditation experience has shown a wide variety of plans for improving the quality of family medical services and their implementation, related not only to the characteristics and capabilities of the institution's activities, but also to the approach to improving the quality of health care services, its goals and methodologies.

In order to achieve a uniform approach of institutions to the quality and improvement of the quality of healthcare services, the Accreditation Service prepared information on the improvement of the quality of healthcare for the institutions accredited for the family medicine service by presenting the most widely used model of the improvement of healthcare services developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

We hope that this information will be useful for other health care providers as well.
