License extension and revision is a free service
The State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities under the Ministry of Health Protection (hereinafter referred to as the Accreditation Service) reminds that the supervision of compliance with the conditions of the licensed activity, often called license extension by license holders, is a free service. Also, you do not need to pay the state toll fee to update your existing license. We note that doctors still pay a state fee for services that are provided free of charge. We draw the attention of doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists and oral care specialists to the fact that the supervision of compliance with the conditions of licensed activity is a free service, so those who submit documents for the supervision of compliance with the conditions of licensed activity do not need to pay the state fee. In addition, the license holder, who has changed his name or surname, does not have to submit an application to the Accreditation Service to correct the details of the license, nor to pay the state fee for the correction of the license. For a doctor who has changed his name or surname, it is sufficient to inform the Accreditation Service about the fact of the name or surname change in a way acceptable to him, by telephone or e-mail. The Accreditation Service receives new personal data from the Population Register when a personal identity document is issued under a new name or surname. In the event that the license holder still paid the fee in order to get it back, he must submit a free-form request to the Accreditation Service to issue a certificate stating that the fee has not been used and is refundable, and submit the received certificate to the State Tax Inspectorate based on his place of residence. "We invite doctors to be more careful and avoid excessive tax orders, which take time and effort to recover," urges director Nora Ribokienė. The state fee must be paid only for a newly issued license. When applying for two or more licenses, each license must be paid for in a separate order. Also, the Accreditation Service notices that doctors have a lot of questions regarding the deadline for submitting documents for the supervision of compliance with the conditions of licensed activity. The Accreditation Service reminds that the supervision of compliance with the conditions of the licensed activity is carried out every five years from the day of license issuance, but not from the day of its supervision. Documents for supervision of compliance with the conditions of the licensed activity must be submitted no later than 5 years from the date of license issuance plus 1 month. For example, if the license was issued in 2012 on July 1, so documents for the supervision of licensed activities must be submitted by 2022. on August 1, regardless of when its last maintenance was performed. "In order to avoid possible misunderstandings, we plan to improve the Health Care and Pharmacy Specialist Practice License Register (LICREG) and publish the expected license maintenance date in the list of Health Care Specialist licenses on the website of the Accreditation Service next to other data about the license," says Director of the Accreditation Service Nora Ribokienė. We also remind you that although license holders often refer to the supervision of compliance with the conditions of the licensed activity as a license extension, the license held by individuals is indefinite, the most important thing is to fulfill one of the duties of a health care specialist on time and submit documents for the supervision of the licensed activity.
