The Accreditation Service became a founder and member of the Association of Supervisory Authorities

November 14 on the initiative of the institutions implementing the supervision of business activities, the Association of Supervision Institutions (hereinafter - PIA) was established, the founder and member of which is the State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities.

The heads of business supervision institutions, taking into account the need for cooperation and sharing of good practices and the application of common business supervision policies, initiated the establishment of PIA. The main goal of the association is to gather supervisory authorities and supervisory experts for joint activities, to organize and promote cooperation and mutual support between supervisory authorities and specialists. The founders of the organization hope that the newly established PIA will contribute to the improvement of business supervision in Lithuania. Based on the knowledge and abilities of the members, the association will strive to ensure the uniform implementation of business supervision policies, promote the progress of applied supervision processes, and the hitherto bilateral or tripartite cooperation of supervisory authorities will become multilateral. Advanced countries such as New Zealand, the Netherlands, Canada, and the United Kingdom have similar organizations and are already successfully applying this model of cooperation. After the PIA statutes were approved, a five-person board was elected for a three-year term, it consists of: Giedrius Kadziauskas, representing the Department of Environmental Protection under the Ministry of the Environment, Genius Lukošius, representing the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration, Mantas Staškevičius, representing the State Food and Veterinary Service, Goda Aleksaitė, representing the State consumer rights protection service, and Ieva Valeškaitė, representing herself as a natural person.

In the near future, the first meeting of the Board is expected to outline the vision of PIA's activities in 2023 and to approve the activity plans. The Association of Supervisory Authorities was established by 15 united business supervisory authorities. The initiative was approved and supported by the Government and ministries of the Republic of Lithuania.
