The mistake of the organizers of improvement - a problem for specialists

The State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities under the Ministry of Health (hereinafter referred to as the Accreditation Service) found out that health care professionals were issued certificates (certificates) of the development program "New Opportunities to Reduce the Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases" organized by UAB "Evisit.Lt" (the program code Metas in the system 12587) was issued to health care professionals, the content of which did not correspond to the content of the improvement program agreed with the Ministry of Health.

The representative of the Centre of Excellence for Health Care and Pharmaceutical Specialists (hereinafter – SSKC), who coordinates the coordination of development programs, confirmed to the Accreditation Service that the development program "New opportunities to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases" indicated in the certificates (certificates) issued by UAB "Evisit LT" was coordinated by Order No V-692 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania of 11 June 2019, the registration number of the program in the Metas system is 23853. The topics indicated in the above-mentioned program coordination documents do not coincide with the topics of lectures indicated in the attached certificates (certificates), as well as the target group of participants indicated in the improvement program and the issued certificates. The coordinated improvement program did not indicate that the program could be divided into parts, and in the issued certificates (certificates) 3 different lectures were assigned to the same program: Long-term anticoagulant therapy of patients with atrial fibrillationAdministration of anticoagulant to an elderly patient with atrial fibrillation, and Is our clinical practice being replaced by the ISCHEMIA test . Also, the representative of the SSCC pointed out that on the topics of lectures (1 hour long) indicated in the certificates, the organizer of the improvement previously conducted one-time 1-hour training, the programs of which are currently invalid.

The accreditation service appealed to JSC "Evisit", asking to clarify the situation that had arisen.

In response, the representative of JSC Evisit noted that the deviation from the content of the program (and the issuance of erroneous certificates) occurred by mistake. After receiving a request from the Accreditation Service, UAB Evisit initiated an internal investigation, during which it was found that due to the ongoing work on updating the IT system, the accessibility settings "knocked down", i.e. the status of the lectures changed from "inactive" to "active", and the lectures became available to the audience with a continuous certificate. A technical error occurred in the issuance of the certificate.

In order to correct this error, JSC "Evisit" undertook to inform health care professionals about the certificates (certificates) erroneously issued to them and to cancel the issued certificates and recommend a new listen to the lectures corresponding to the program and to perform a test, the certificate of which will correspond to the program.

The Accreditation Service notes that the certificates (certificates) of the program "New opportunities to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases" (program code Metas in the system 12587) issued by UAB "Evisit.Lt" will not be credited.

The Accreditation Service seeks to ensure that health care professionals are offered only high-quality improvement programs that meet the requirements of the current legislation and are agreed with the Ministry of Health. Errors in the organizers of improvement cause problems for specialists, therefore, maximum responsibility in the execution of these programs is necessary.
