"High-quality, modern services for children, provided by top-level specialists, are very important activities of Santaras clinics. We fully understand that the environment in which those services are provided is an integral part of quality. Therefore, today we are happy that we can provide activities in a modern building for our young patients and the staff of our clinics. It houses the Child Development Center, the Children's Consultation Polyclinic, the Laboratory, the Pediatric Center's day hospital, and the Rare Disease Coordination Center. We can breathe a little easier after passing one stage, but we are concentrating our efforts to successfully implement the next one - the construction of the second Pediatric building", says the general director of VUL Santaras Clinics, prof. Felix Jankevičius.
The general director notes that the integration of the Child Development Center into a multi-profile hospital is a qualitative leap in providing the highest level of child and adolescent mental health care services to both patients and specialists. And the transfer of pediatric services to the new building ensures the provision of modern services that meet the needs and quality of Lithuanian children and thus contributes to improving the health of the country's children, reducing child morbidity and mortality.
The construction of the pediatric building and the new Child Development Center began in 2020. When designing and carrying out the construction works of the structure, the essential requirements are assessed in the solutions: mechanical durability and stability; Fire safety; hygiene, health, environmental protection; safety of use; noise protection; energy saving and heat preservation; sustainable use of natural resources. Water heating collectors are installed on the roof of the building, which will allow some of the hot water to be produced from renewable resources.
